Writing 101 – Why Do I Write

I don’t think there was ever a time in my life that I did not write. Granted most of that time, especially the grade school through high school years, writing was more of a daunting unwelcomed chore. I probably hated writing as much as I hated making my bed every day. But then college happened. More specifically a degree in History happened…which meant deep, crunchy, hard research and writing happened. I LOVED it!! And then the degree was had and the research/writing pretty much came to a screeching halt.

Life got crazy busy/complicated for a while but ‘it got better’. And now, now I can write more…if I remember. There’s always that. I started my blog way back in 2012 right before my and my family’s first trip to Japan. I blogged every day that we were there and a little bit after we got home. Then the second trip to Japan came and with it so did the blogging. After we got home I sort of stopped blogging every day and then every week. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve tried to make the effort of blogging/writing every day.

I love to put my thoughts into writing. Sometimes it’s harder than others, sometimes it flows faster than my fingers can find the correct keys. I also can’t lie in that I would love to get paid for my writing….in whatever realm (ie technical, copywrite, etc).

So, why do I write….why not. It’s fun, it’s relaxing, it makes my grey matter exercise, and it will (fingers crossed) make me money some day.
