Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!
It’s an absolutely beautiful day here where I live. The sun is shining, there doesn’t appear to be a cloud in the sky and according to the WeatherBug app on my phone, it’s a balmy 21 degrees F…. Ok, I know it’s close to winter…well about a month and a half away…but still…21F?! Guess complaining won’t do me any good. Better put on my warm undies and get ready for the day.
I wasn’t as productive yesterday due to my beloved iron breaking. She was a bit leaky before but yesterday it was like she was the cliff at Niagra Falls. I had the iron for a good 20+ years so it was time to get a new one. Kohl’s must have know as they sent me the coveted 30% off coupon.
I bought a lovely new Rowenta (the same brand as the last one) and paid less than what I saved. I love that.
So, now that I have a new iron and I’ve drunk as much coffee as a human possibly should, I suppose that it’s time to get the day rolling. These bags aren’t going to sew themselves!!
I wish I could say that I’ve been jet setting across the world, or basking in the warm glow of the sun next to my Olympic sized swimming pool. Reality is, however, that daily life took it’s toll on all my free time. Since my last blog, which seems years ago, I’ve successfully gotten into two shows (upcoming), the kiddo has gotten into one show (past – Fantasticon…which certainly lived up to it’s name), my Mom was in and out of the hospital (about a week and a half stay), and all sorts of craziness in-between.
I’ve been sewing everyday to build up enough product for the two shows. One is later this month – November 23. This one is an Alternative Gift Giving Fair with donations and table fees going to help the homeless. The other show is December 6 (a mere 13 days after the first) and is at Turner Hall in Downtown Milwaukee. Fingers crossed that I sell loads of product so that I can keep myself captive in my sewing room.
And….with that said….off I go to finish more sewing….
Life has been all sorts of crazy lately….thus not being able to write much. My mom was in the hospital, my daughter had her first experiences having a table in Artist Alley at Fantasticon, I’ve been frantically making onigiri (only finished nine) while also trying to get stock built up for not one but two shows.
Now that my Mom is home and the convention is over, all I need to do is work on the stock. I’ve made some really nice eye glass cases and fold over snap closure wallets. Today, with all luck, I’ll clean up my sewing room and get back to sewing.
